SUPPORT THE JUST STRUGGLE OF WORKERS AND TOILING MASSES OF IRAN!
In recent months, the just struggle of the oppressed masses of Iran, against the Islamic regime, has intensified tremendously. Workers and other toiling masses have taken part in massive strikes and protest marches in various cities and localities. Currently, there are huge protest marches by teachers in Tehran and other cities for higher wages and other just demands. The widespread protest movement of the workers and teachers is the manifestation of the general hatred and dissatisfaction of the people against the repressive regime in power in Iran. During the past 23 years, the oppressed peoples of Iran have shown tremendous determination in resisting a brutal regime whose crimes and atrocities know no bounds.
The reactionary Islamic regime, while subjecting the toiling masses to the rule of terror and intimidation, resorts to tricks of all kind to deceive the Iranian people and the world public opinion. Five years ago, a faction of the regime led by Khatami, emerged pretending to champion the cause of reform and democracy. This was nothing but a vein attempt by the regime, to deceive the masses and the world public opinion and to prolong the criminal rule of the medieval regime. In reality, there is no difference in the wickedness and brutality, between Khatami and his “reformist” clique and Khamenei and his clique of “hardliners”. During the past 23 years, Khatami and other “reformists” have actively participated in numerous crimes and atrocities against the Iranian people and their hands, like the hands of the “hardliners”, are drenched in the blood of Iranian revolutionaries and patriots. Since the first presidency of Khatami, 5 years ago, not a slightest change has appeared in the repressive and tyrannical nature of the Islamic regime. The rapacious imperialist powers and their mass media promote the cause of Khatami and the Islamic regime and praise Khatami’s reformist pretensions, in order to further their influence in Iran and to facilitate the plunder of the wealth of the country and the exploitation of its people.
The Islamic regime in its entirety still remains (and will continue to remain until its certain doom) as a reactionary, medieval, terrorist and anti-democratic regime and the sworn enemy of the Iranian people. In today’s Iran, there is no sign of freedom and democracy. Free press, free speech and free political and trade union activities are non-existent. Progressive and revolutionary writers, suffer strict censorship, being constantly harassed by the regime. While the cliques in power, accumulate unheard of wealth through corruption, bribery and embezzlement and live in opulence and luxury, the overwhelming majority of the population – workers, teachers, office employees and other toiling masses, endure extreme poverty and deprivation. For the past 23 years, the veil has been imposed on Iranian women and their subjugation knows no bounds. That is the reason why Iranian women are at the forefront of the struggle against this medieval regime. During its bloody rule, the Islamic regime has executed tens of thousands of those opposed to the rule of reaction and tyranny. The torture of political prisoners is a common practice in Iran.
In spite of all crimes perpetuated by the Islamic regime and all its tricks and treacheries, the just struggle of the toiling masses of Iran, is surging ahead. The Islamic regime is in power only by the means of terror and intimidation. This corrupt regime is rotten to the core and manifold economic and political crisis threaten the very existence of this reactionary regime. The day is approaching when, workers and toiling masses of Iran, through their revolutionary efforts, will dispatch this medieval regime, to the dustbin of history.
We call upon all progressive and revolutionary elements and organisations to support the just struggle of the toiling masses of Iran and to expose the crimes and atrocities of the reactionary regime in power in this country.
