Arrests During the Anti-WEF Demonstrations

February 2, 2002 - Around 10,000 people marched in the streets of New York against the WEF meeting that took place at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel of New York from January 31 through February 4, 2002.
There have been about 150 arrests over the weekend of February 2 and 3. Most of the arrests were due to the police overreaction and provocation rather than the violence of the protestors contrary to the deliberate-false scenarios of the corporate media.

The WEF Met in New York

The WEF meeting took place at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel of New York from January 31 through February 4, 2002.
This was the Forum’s 31st meeting and its first meeting ever in New York. The World Economic Forum’s home base had so far been the city of Davos in Switzerland since its foundation in 1971 by Klaus Schwab, the Swiss businessman who is also the president of the WEF. The World Economic Forum is a private member organization that is founded by and for the multi-national corporates.
