War's Not Over, Neither Is Movement For Peace!

THE WAR'S NOT OVER! NEITHER IS OUR MOVEMENT FOR PEACE!

In militarist "euphoria", U.S. officials are bragging of its "victory" in conquering the capital city of Baghdad. It is an attempt to vindicate the U.S. government's violation of international law regarding its illegal invasion. It is a propaganda tactic to convince the broad public that "the ends, justifies the means". It is an attempt to divert public attention to U.S. military atrocities against Iraqi civilians. It is an attempt to cover-up the true voice of the Iraqi people and their quest for true self-determination. The views of the Iraqi people are being distorted by a pro-war propaganda machine to support the illegal U.S. invasion. The U.S. "victory" so far has nothing to do with compensation and medical treatment of Iraqi civilians who have been victims of military atrocities. The U.S. "victory" so far has nothing to do with the indictment of government and military officials for international war crimes and violations of international laws. The U.S. "victory" has nothing to do with an end to the continued destruction, bombing and killings of Iraqi civilians in the days to come.

SUPPORT THE IRAQI PEOPLES HUMAN RIGHTS AGAINST CONSEQUENCES OF WAR!

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in Baghdad and other key cities without water, electricity and other means for survival. War-torn Iraq has caused the displacement and dislocation of thousands of families, separated by military barricades and war zones. The long term effects of hundreds of thousands of pounds of "shock and awe" bombs have yet to be revealed in taking its toll. Bombing debris, rubble and chemical fall-out of toxic military weapons will have serious health consequences on the people and children of Iraq. The socio-psychological impact of invasion and war on children shall haunt an entire generation with memories of fear, terror, hatred and a life of violence.

NO TO OCCUPATION AND NEO-COLONIALISM! SUPPORT THE IRAQI PEOPLES RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION!

The ensuing U.S. occupation and neo-colonial control of Iraq is an abomination of all peoples' right to self-determination. Reconstruction is a code-word used to disguise neo-colonial control of Iraq for the purposes of locking-in U.S. multi-national corporate interests and U.S. military installations. The Bush administration's mission now is to identify and install a puppet government who will pass through sweeping laws and policies that will favor foreign control over the economy, oil and continue U.S. military presence by establishing permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq.

NO TO MORE WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND AROUND THE WORLD! NO TO U.S. MILITARY BASES IN IRAQ!

The signs of more war to come were exposed when U.S. officials began their military threats against Syria, Iran and North Korea. The U.S. will proceed to plan for permanent U.S. military installations in Iraq to have stable firepower in the region and point missiles at Iraq's neighbors. Under the "preventive war" doctrine, the U.S. will now set its agenda on launching "preventive" military operations in other countries, which will spread also to Asia. It is fueled by its "victory", might, and arrogance in refusing to follow international law. The U.S. shall continue with its anti-Muslim and racist crusade, and in doing so has criminalized whole cultural systems and religious beliefs by profiling Muslims as terrorists.

NO TO MORE U.S. TROOPS AND MILITARY INTERVENTION IN THE PHILIPPINES! NO TO BALIKATAN-03 IN SULU, PHILIPPINES!

The Balikatan-03 has launched "military excercises" with U.S. and Philippine troops in Sulu, as announced by President Arroyo. The excercises are a violation of the Philippine constitution. The deployment of U.S. troops are a violation of national sovereignty. The U.S. has yet to clean up its toxic waste from its past military bases, which have killed many Filipino civilians. Prostitution of women, young girls and boys becomes rampant around U.S. military installations. Wave after wave of mass protests by the Filipino people have stood against U.S. military intervention in the Philippines. The war in Iraq and deployment of U.S. troops in the Philippines have a common problem...U.S. imperialism.

EXPOSE THE EXPORT LABOR AGENDA OF PHILIPPINE PRESIDENT ARROYO!

The Arroyo regime is setting-up sweatheart deals with the U.S. to employ jobless Filipino workers to work in Iraq. Unable to develop a self-sustaining stable economy in the Philippines, Arroyo continues the Export Labor Policy which resulted from neo-liberal policies and globalization since post-World War II. While Filipinos are hard-up for cash and no one can blame them for going abroad to find jobs to feed their families, it is despicable that Pres. Arroyo has acted in complete subserviance to the U.S. in providing support for the U.S. invasion of Iraq, and is now negotiating "pay-backs" by peddling Filipino workers for cheap labor in the international job market. And the overseas Filpino workers wages shall go into the economy which is structured to pay-back the Philippines' $55 billion foreign debt, mostly to the United States. Filipinos deserve jobs in the Philippines, next to their families.

SUPPORT THE RIGHTS OF IMMIGRANTS, AS U.S. DOMESTIC VICTIMS OF THE WAR ON IRAQ!

Operation "Liberty Shield" is now in effect under the Dept. of Homeland Security. The FBI has new powers to detain immigrants in question by the authorities heresay. The Department of "Justice" has expanded the mandatory 'special registration' for certain ethnic groups and nationalities based on racial profiling. Deportation, arrests and detention are antagonizing and traumatizing our communitieis. Whole categories and groups of immigrants are being categorized as "guilty by suspicion", though they are innocent of being linked to terrorists. The USA Patriot Act I and II and all anti-immigrant legislation and policies must be over-turned as part of the peace movement's agenda.

NO TO THE U.S.WAR BUDGET! YES TO NATIONAL UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, JOBS AND SOCIAL SERVICES FOR OUR COMMUNITIES!

As unemployment soars, teachers and educational programs are being cut, and social service programs are being cut, the Bush Administration is asking for more and more money to support war in Iraq. Defense spending is at an all-time high in the history of not only the U.S., but in the history of the world. The first $75 billion that Bush is asking for will turn into billions of more dollars. The tax payers cost to rebuild Iraq, which will profit mostly multi-national corporations, is coming from the budget to rebuild America.
